How do I learn more about 3rd Order Communications?

Let’s start with what you already know!

Don’t let terms like “social cognition” and “emotional intelligence” be barriers to learning more about 3rd Order Communications. You already use some of these social communication behaviors in your everyday interactions. In fact, every time you communicate with another person or an audience you start at the 1st Order Communication level.

Some of you have the ability to move to the 2nd Order when you notice all is not well in the 1st Order. You have already learned that you can modify your communication style to fit an audience. Emotional intelligence is generally just the controlled use of emotion and not letting your emotions determine your behavior.

Social intelligence is the new science of how we relate individually on a social level through our communications with others. Communicating with mutual respect starts with your own social awareness and your ability to navigate the social networks in your life. You do this when you say, “Forget I’m your boss, let’s talk as friends.”

We have three ways for you to learn more about 3rd Order Communications and build your own set of communication tools and more effective communication techniques along the way.

1. FREE Socially Adaptable Communications Profiler

It all starts with our FREE Socially Adaptable Communications Profiler, which will give you an idea of your current skill level in using each of the three Orders. This is a very general overview and is based on your total score. It is designed to help you understand where you are starting this learning process. Our goal is to give you a beginning benchmark of your current communications behavior. A limitation of the free total score feedback is that it does not address your responses to the individual eight questions.

2. Detailed Question Analysis with Suggested Developmental Techniques

To supplement the Free general analysis based on your total score, we recommend you consider our detailed, question-by-question review of your Profiler answers. The Detailed Question Analysis includes much more information and suggests techniques to begin development of your capabilities. You can access this option after submitting the Profiler. The cost is $29.95 and includes a printable record.

We have a sample Detailed Question Analysis for your consideration. We have selected a range of scores for your review of the techniques we provide. There will be at least 15 to as many as 25 techniques provided depending on your question scores.

NOTE: WE MAINTAIN A DATABASE OF YOUR RESPONSES THAT ARE LINKED TO YOUR REFERENCE NUMBER. WE MAINTAIN NO PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION WITH ANY DATABASE RECORDS.

3. Custom Profiler Analysis

If you want even more specific feedback based on your answers to the Profiler Questions, one of our behavioral communication consultants will call you and review your communications experience. We then develop a unique analysis for you based on your Profiler Question answers and the additional data you provide.

The cost is $89.95 and includes a printable record. This option is available after submitting the Profiler.
